We expect the bathroom to be one of the cleanest portions of our house. After all, this is where we shower and clean ourselves. However, we do not always end up with a clean bathroom. It is very easy for soap scum to build up especially if we do not clean it regularly.

Cleaning the bathroom is tough. However, this has to be done. You do not want to shower in a bathroom filled with filth, do you?

Here are helpful tips that will make your chore a bit easier:

  1.  Prepare the cleaning tools you will use. See to it that you have everything in one bucket. This way, you do not have to go back to the storage area to grab other cleaning tools to clean your bathroom paneling. See to it that you have brushes, rags, soap, disinfectants, and other equipments you will need.

  2.  Remove everything that is not affixed in the bathroom. This means that the only thing you should leave inside the bathroom are the bathtub, toilet bowls, lavatory, shower, counters, and mirrors. Remove the bottles of shampoos, soap, and other items you have there. This will make the cleaning process faster.

  3.  Throw the items you need to wash in the washing machine. This includes bathrobes, towels, and other cloths that you need to change. Separate them according to color and wash them accordingly.

  4.  Start cleaning the shower area or the bathtub. Choose from the many cleaning products available in the market today. Make sure that you clean the shower poles and remove any soap scum that has accumulated.

  5.  See to it the tiles on the walls are clean. If you have a beadboard bathroom, see to it that you clean them as well. Make sure that there are no build up of moss in any corner of the bathroom. Fungi cause this that is why you have to make sure that you clean the walls thoroughly.

  6.  Clean the counter and the mirrors. You can use paper towels or rags to wipe the mirrors and counter. You can wash the counter with soap and water and dry it afterwards.

  7.  Clean the toilet. It is important that you have very good toilet cleaners. This is to make sure that the germs and dirt are removed. Allow the product to sit on the toilet bowl for a while. Rinse it with water afterwards and apply antibacterial products.

  8.  Clean the floor. After cleaning everything, turn your attention on the floor. Brush the tiles or use a mop. Make sure that you clean all areas of the floor.

  9.  Spray disinfectant after you have cleaned the entire area. Spray anti-bacterial products too to ensure that all harmful germs are gone.

  10.  Install new towels.
